Biography
Hi, I’m Vicki! I’m a Danish Designer and Paper Artist. After earning my degree in Product Design from the Royal Danish Academy of Design in 2004, I spent a decade focused on jewelry design.
In 2015, I discovered my true passion for paper art. I hand-cut each piece with love, telling poetic stories through paper. My work includes custom-made paper artworks, floral designs for special occasions, and unique interior decorations. Beyond these handcrafted pieces, I also create concepts and products for laser-cut production, bringing ideas to life from concept to finished product.
Now, you have the opportunity to experience my art through ARTXP. Join me for my Mindfulness Through Papercutting experience, where I’ll share my personal journey and guide you through the meditative beauty of papercutting in an artist talk and workshop.

Mindfulness Through Papercutting: A Personal Note from Vicki Zoé
"As a paper artist, I approach my Art poetically.
I work with graphic shapes and concepts.
I don't draw initially.
I let the unique pattern develop dynamically- cut by cut- removing everything but the essence.
Physically and mentally, I focus on what holds everything together- in my Art as well as in my life.
Living a modern, fast-paced life in a world of constant internet, online, digital, and AI, we are always ON.
Constantly available.
Contemplating, evaluating, and making decisions.
We are never really on a break- mentally or physically.
I believe we need to take a break.
We need to stop, pause, and breathe.
We need to turn our brains off.
Breathe calmly, clear our minds, and slow down.
By doing so, we decrease high levels of cortisol, ensuring a healthier lifestyle both mentally and physically.
In my opinion, we also become far more effective.
When I started papercutting, I was going through a difficult time.
I was stressed. My mind was constantly racing with deadlines and challenges.
I never really had a break.
Letting the sharp knife rhythmically cut through the paper, something changed.
I became completely focused on the rhythmic cutting.
I experienced a new state of mind:
Peace.
Silence.
Everything around me stopped and disappeared- big and small.
I felt calm and at peace.
My heart rate slowed.
My breathing became steady.
My busy monkey brain stopped.
No worries about the next moment.
I was just focused- present in the moment.
I experienced hyperfocus.
A state of total mindfulness.
It was almost meditative.
